Contemporary Issues and Society
Contemporary Issues & Society
Prepare students to think critically about the challenges, debates, and social movements shaping our world today.
Our Contemporary Issues & Society courses explore the people, ideas, institutions, and events that influence modern life. Through rigorous analysis, evidence-based inquiry, and thoughtful discussion, students examine complex topics such as human rights, criminal justice, social change, public policy, cultural movements, and global issues.
Designed for high school homeschool students, these secular, college-prep courses move beyond memorization to encourage deeper understanding of how societies function, why conflicts arise, and how individuals and groups have worked to create change. Students develop essential skills in critical thinking, research, source analysis, argumentation, and written communication while engaging with real-world issues from multiple perspectives.
Whether studying the pursuit of justice, the impact of social movements, or the ongoing challenges facing communities around the globe, students will gain the knowledge and analytical tools needed to become informed citizens and independent thinkers.
